Trust everyone is well. Just a quick e-mail to let you know that the top end of the drag strip down to the cross runway will be in use this coming Saturday & Sunday 9th/10th September for the annual Radio Control Model Car Speed Weekend. They will be staying on site from Friday evening on the grass area and will be operating both days weather permitting of course which I have to say doesn’t look to good. The grass runway will be available as usual but please be on the look out when crossing the main runway.
Also a further reminder that the drag strip will be in use next Friday 15th September after from 12.00 noon till 5.00 pm. This will be the start of the raceway’s annual Hot Rod Drags event so the runway during these hours will be closed but the grass runway will be available.
Any problems please give me a shout.
Just a quick message to say that there will be a bit of filming taking place at the top of the runway tomorrow morning for a few hours. There’s a company coming in to film a runner that’s all for some internal film. They shouldn’t be in anyone’s way but this all hinges on the weather of course.
Mentioning the runner the organisers for the Run on Saturday will also be setting some areas up tomorrow afternoon so again please be on your guard. Thanks.
Trust all is well with you guys. Just a short e-mail to let you know that the main runway heading towards the drag strip has been booked by Volvo Trucks for a customer promotion. The day will commence from 10.00 am till 5.00 pm. There will be a sales unit truck parked on the edge of the runway by the drag strip wall as this is the area they will be using on the day.
Furthermore I want to carry out a few more runway repairs as well before next weekend’s drag race meeting (22rd/23rd July). Also a further reminder that the 5K run will be taking place Saturday 29th July between 8.00 am and 3.00 pm.
On both occasions the grass runway will be open as normal.
Just a quick one, we have the driving experience days on at the end of the week, It will operate in the same manor as two weeks ago with them using the main tarmac runway, flying around this will be able to take place e.g. grass runway and model flying area.
It will be taking place on the 29th, 30th June and 1st July.

SHAKESPEARE COUNTY RACEWAY
Please be aware that there is an event on over the next 3 days at the airfield meaning that our access to the club flying site is as per that used on a drag race day.
I received notification of this a few minutes ago so please take care when entering/leaving site.
Please be advised that due to race preparations that the main runway will not be available for model flying on Friday 23rd June.
The club strip will remain open so anyone wishing to fly on that day will need to operate from the club site
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS
As mentioned in our last committee meeting minutes, from 8am on Friday June 2nd until 5pm on Sunday June 4th 2017 access to the club facilities will not be permitted due to activities on the main runway and overflying of the club strip by show pilots.
Please do not attempt to access the club facilities at this time for any reason without prior permission and clearance from the show organisers who’s decision is final.
Remember that you represent the club and your fellow members. A failure to comply with this requirement or follow instructions from the airshow organisers and their representatives does nothing to help our very good relationship with the airfield who have been relentless in their support of our club for a good number of years.
Please remember that access to Avonvale MFC Members is discounted on presentation of your current club membership card at the entrance to this year’s show and I hope to see you there.
Please see attached the most recent committee meeting minutes for your information:

Could members please be wary of cyclists using the airfield at these times should you go to the airfield in the evenings. The club calendar has been updated.
Commencing Monday 3rd April the top end of the drag strip run-off area (from the closed section to the cross runway opposite the white wall) is going to be used by Stratford Cycling Club Junior Section from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm. The club will also be using this area on Thursday 6th April from 6.30 pm to 7.30pm as well. The club have booked this area to run the proceeding Monday’s and Thursday’s until mid-July. Dates and times (which are variable) have now been added to the attached version 2 of the 2017 Grass & Tarmac Operating Times schedule. These can be viewed and marked in red as additions to the schedule.
Obviously this is in the interest of safety to children and parents taking part in these events as well as your selves at the times specified. So to avoid any unwanted confusion the Grass Runway will operate during these times until the Tarmac runway becomes available.
